The current gold market is very similar to that of 10 years ago. There is not much fluctuation throughout the day, and there is only one wave of market trends when there is any movement. The rest of the time is just dazed.
For more than three months, the space for market fluctuations has become smaller and smaller, and traders' sentiment has become increasingly sluggish. Geographical risks, trade conflicts, and monetary policy have all pressed the "pause button".
All attention is collectively on Friday (August 1). Since the US reciprocal tariffs were fired in April, a sharp sword hanging over its head has appeared and disappeared. This time, Trump will really launch retaliatory tariffs or continue to verbally delay time. I guess he himself doesn't know.
Other, the July non-agricultural employment data will also be released at 20:30 pm on Friday (August 1). Although the current non-agricultural data is very watery, the changes in the data are also "impermanent". The frequency is revised in the past two years, but it does not affect the impact of non-agricultural production on the market.
On the one hand, it is the risk aversion caused by trade conflicts, and on the other hand, it is the expectation of interest rate cuts brought about by non-agricultural employment. These two are the main factors that guide the fluctuation of gold prices. It has been three months, and there is not much time left. The unilateralism is brewing, but this process does consume everyone's enthusiasm.
On Monday, gold prices fell rapidly in the morning, rebounding through the high of $3339 last Friday morning, perfectly staged a "false breakthrough" and did not continue after the breakthrough. It continued to fluctuate sideways yesterday afternoon, leaving enough time for bulls and bears to get on the car until the US market quickly broke through the key support position of 3320 and fell to $3300.
Will the weakness continue to continue? In fact, the market is not clear now, and there is still no further information after it is lost in one breath. 3300 is the central axis of fluctuation in the past three months, and it is upwards of US$3,500.$200, with a downward span of $200, and the game between bulls and bears is still not over.
There has been a small-range oscillation from morning to now, and there is not much fluctuation. The key to whether it can be continued is the breakdown within the low point of the morning 3307-05. If the breakout here, it may continue, but I don’t want to be arrogant before it breaks, and the volatility of the Asian and European sessions itself is limited.
So, today I think 3305 is used as the long-short division point. There is currently no suitable position above this position, and I do not plan to reduce short positions in the Asian and European sessions. Only the area where the breaking level 3305 rebounds 3307-10 will be considered. Focus on the 3328-3335-3338 line upwards. I plan to wait and see for the Asian and European sessions for the time being. The price before the US session will steadily rise, and then there will be more, breaking the level of 3305 and rebounding short, and waiting and see other positions. Also reminder: If you have a heavy position, no loss is required, and do not learn from it if you lock the position. One-one word!
